Buder Elementary School

Recently, Buder Elementary School participated in a "Hats for Haiti" campaign which generated $500 for Haitian relief efforts.  To raise the money students and staff members donated $1 to wear a hat to school. 

 

Carnahan High School of the Future

Carnahan students raised $1,000 in one week to donate to the Salvation Army in efforts to help Haiti.

Additionally, students are supporting one of their classmates whose family lives in Haiti.  Currently the student has not been able to make contact with her family, but as more information becomes available Carnahan hopes to provide updates. 

 

Cote Brilliante Elementary

Cote Brilliante raised $550 for Haiti relief efforts and gave the money to the Red Cross. 

 

Ford Elementary

Students at Ford Community Education Full Service School are donating allowances, working to earn extra money, or lending a helping hand wherever positive to reach out to the children in Haiti.

 

Hodgen Elementary College Bound Academy

Hodgen Elementary had a weeklong campaign called “Hodgen Help for Haiti”. Money raised will be donated to Yéle Haiti, the Haitian relief foundation established by Wyclef Jean. In one day students and staff raised approximately $200.

 

Kennard Classical Junior Academy

Students at Kennard CJA have raised $1,750.00 for Haitian relief efforts.

 

Mason School of Academic and Cultural Literacy

Mason School of Academic and Cultural Literacy presented a check in the amount of $1,200 to the American Red Cross to help families in Haiti affected by the earthquakes. 

 

Mullanphy ILC Botanical Gardens School

Since last November, the fourth grade students at Mullanphy ILC, along with assistance from parents and teachers, have collected over 100 pounds of aluminum cans.  The cans were sold to a recycling center and a portion of the money used to adopt an African Lion at the St. Louis Zoo, and make a donation to the Haitian Relief Fund. 

 

Shaw VPA

Students at Shaw VPA, inspired by the “Haiti Houses” project, have decided to create their own tiny house pins in efforts to assist families from Haiti in need.  The houses are being sold for $5 at the school and other locations through St. Louis and St. Louis County. If you are interested in purchasing one of the "Haiti Houses" contact (314) 605-8884. 

 

Shenandoah Elementary School

Shenandoah collected for the efforts in Haiti with a fun themed community service project called “Popcorn for Haiti”.   The school raised $220.

 

Soldan International Studies High School

Soldan International Studies High School is composed of faculty and students from many nations.  The school's community service resulted in a collective contribution in the amount of $500.  

 

Stix Early Childhood Center

Students have donated approximately $400 by placing their change in a jug for the Red Cross.             

 

Walbridge Elementary

The pre-K through 6th grade students of Walbridge Elementary have raised $900 through their “Change for Haiti” campaign. The first graders, as a treat for bringing in the largest collection of coins, will be attending a concert at Powell Symphony Hall in February.
