EMPLOYMENT

It is the policy of the St. Louis Public Schools to recruit and secure the best personnel available to fill all positions in the organizational structure, and will do so by:

1. Maintaining a recruitment program designed to attract persons capable of performing competently in the positions established by the district.

2. Selecting the best qualified applicant for any position vacancy, based upon their ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, the position specifications, rights and privileges guaranteed to individuals under state and federal mandates and Board of Education policies.

Responsibility for initiating and maintaining the employment policy is delegated to the superintendent of schools. The human resource officer shall be responsible for coordinating the administration, implementation and evaluation of the employment policy and its associated regulations.
