Extension Allows SLPS to Continue Accepting Transfer Students
Students
to benefit from expanded magnet programs and other initiatives
St. Louis – The board of directors of the Voluntary
Interdistrict Choice Corporation (VICC) today approved a resolution
extending the period for accepting new transfer students by
an additional five years.
“Our school district supports the action by the VICC
board of directors,” said Superintendent Diana Bourisaw. “County
students and parents continue to indicate their interest in
our magnet program. The action today means students will benefit
from program expansions, such as the enhanced gifted initiative
at McKinley and the expanded program at Central VPA High School.”
The extension covers the student transfer program through
the 2013-2014 school year.
