St. Louis – Dr. Diana Bourisaw, Interim Superintendent of the St. Louis Public Schools, today announced she has hired Maureen Spence to temporarily oversee the district’s human resources division.

“Ms. Spence brings to St. Louis not only her experience in leading human resources in other school districts, but also a strong background in school administration and teaching,” said Dr. Bourisaw.

Maureen Spence joins the St. Louis Public Schools after having served as an assistant superintendent of human resources in two Missouri school districts – Mehlville and Rockwood – in the past 13 years.

Prior to becoming an assistant superintendent, Ms. Spence also served as the principal of Washington Junior High School in Mehlville. She started her career as a teacher at Oakville Senior High School in Mehlville and was later named as an assistant principal at that school.
