FAMILY FESTIVAL TO
BE HELD THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 19
St. Louis – The St. Louis Public Schools will be hosting
its annual back to school Family Festival on Aug. 19 from 9:00
a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Gateway Middle School, 1200 N. Jefferson.
“This will be a great kick-off to what
will be a great school year,” said Dr. Diana Bourisaw,
Interim Superintendent. “I encourage parents to
bring their children for a fun day of activities, school registration,
and family resources,” she said.
Again this year, the Family Festival will
be highlighted with:
- School supplies and backpacks for kids
- Free food
- School registration
- Immunizations
- Entertainment (clowns, radio and television personalities)
- Family resources
During this year’s Family
Festival, the St. Louis Public Schools is asking for the public’s
help in filling a school bus with school supplies, including
unused notebooks, pencils, markers, pens, calculators, or other
necessary items. All donated school supplies will be
given away to children on Aug. 26 during back to school rallies
at the Monsanto YMCA and the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls
Club. |
