OVER 1,000 SLPS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ANNUAL ST.LOUIS
SCIENCE FAIR
(St. Louis)—Over 1,000 students from the St. Louis Public
Schools (SLPS) participated in the St. Louis Science Fair this
year. The fair, which ends today, is located at the St. Louis
Science Center, 5050 Oakland Ave. The annual event drew more
than 310 projects from SLPS students.
The science fair is a preliminary event to the St. Louis Queeny
Park Science Fair, which is traditionally held later in the
year. “The projects this year are
excellent,” said Olga Hunt, SLPS science supervisor. “Their
participation gives them a sense of accomplishment and it is
the best way to prepare them for the MAP test.”
One of the highlighted experiments is from Carr Lane Visual
and Performing Arts Middle where students developed a project
entitled “Super-Size the
Bacteria.” Hunt says that experiment “is something
to see.”
The fair will conclude today at 4:30 p.m.
