St. Louis Public Schools Collect 128,000 Cans
of Food to Fight Hunger in the City
(St. Louis) – Students and staff of the St. Louis Public
Schools have set a new record in their 5th annual Hearts for
Hunger canned food drive. The drive, which started Feb. 5,
collected more than 128,000 cans of food for Operation Food
Search, a local food bank.
Operation Food Search will coordinate the distribution of
the canned goods throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area.
On Feb. 23, students at Shaw Visual and Performing Arts, will
help load an Operation Food Search truck with the 18,000 they
collected through their school.
