SIXTH ANNUAL ART FAIR NOW OPEN
The Sixth Annual St. Louis Public Schools Art Fair officially
opened on Friday, Feb. 23rd and will run through March 9th
at the Saint Louis Zoo’s Living World. The fair is an
important way of recognizing student art work.
“I had the honor of serving as a judge today, along
with several deans from area universities, directors of area
museums, and a variety of organizations for the arts,” said
Dr. Diana Bourisaw, Superintendent of the St. Louis Public
Schools. “It is clear that we have a lot of talented
young artists within our district,” she added.
St. Louis Public Schools students from preschool through
12th grade submit their work in six categories, including drawing,
painting, mixed media, computer graphics, printmaking, and
photography. “The exemplary preschool through twelfth
grade work clearly demonstrates the integration of art, science,
and other academic disciplines,” says Linda Kraiberg,
SLPS Art Supervisor.
The Art Fair is sponsored by the St. Louis Public Schools
Foundation and the St. Louis Zoo. The chair of the sixth annual
fair is John Ferring. Additional assistance is provided through
Pulaski Bank.
An awards ceremony will culminate the Fair on Friday, March
9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.
