SLPS sponsors interactive after-school conference

St. Louis—The St. Louis Public Schools’ 21st Century Community Learning Centers are holding an After School Hours Hands-on Learning Conference on Saturday, February 9. The conference will provide community learning center staff the opportunity to participate in professional development activities designed to foster excellent after-school programming. The event will be held at the St. Louis Public Library’s Film Library branch, 1415 Olive Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During the conference, staff from ten different sites will meet to team build, network and discuss best practices for students in the district’s after-school programs. They will also participate in sessions that simulate specific after-school activities. These activities will include: computer technology, theatre, reptiles, robotics, games, art, film, dance, music, and math strategies.
