State Champs Honored at City Hall
Two
St. Louis Public Schools teams received special honors at City
Hall for their accomplishments on the athletic field. Mayor
Francis Slay presented proclamations to the basketball teams
of Vashon and Metro High Schools for becoming state champions.
Vashon men’s basketball team won their 11th Missouri
Class 5 state championship by beating Kickapoo High School
by a final school of 58-55.
Metro girl’s basketball team also received a proclamation
from Mayor Slay for winning the Missouri State Class 2 basketball
championship by beating Clopton High School
49-44
Donte Butler, a junior at Sumner High School received a proclamation
from Mayor Slay for wining second place at the state competition
for wrestling.
