SURVEY OF OWNERS LAUNCHED BY SAINT LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS
St. Louis – The St. Louis Public School District is
seeking input from all the owners of the school system, including
teachers, students, parents, business owners, and elected officials.
Today, the District launched an online survey, which will be
available through June 4, at http://www.slps.org/public_comment/school_improvement/.
“We want to know the areas where we need to focus in
order to better serve our constituents,” said Superintendent
Diana Bourisaw. “Our goal is to create the best choice
in urban education.”
Thanks to a generous grant from Parsons Blewett Scholarship
Fund, SLPS is in the process of a creating a continuous cycle
of improvement for the St. Louis Public Schools. The survey
will assist the district and its Board of Education in setting
goals aimed at strengthening teaching and learning in every
classroom across the district.
“The development of a sustainable cycle of improvement
is quite different than previously undertaken ‘strategic
plans.’ This process will provide us an on-ramp beginning
next school by having us focus our energy, and professional
development opportunities, on the identified needs of the district,” said
Bourisaw.
