THE "BREAKFAST CREW" VISITS
ST.LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS!
Popular radio program “Tony Scott and the New Breakfast
Crew” broadcast their
morning show at the St. Louis Public Schools headquarters on
Thursday, November 3 from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. Superintendent
Creg E. Williams and Board President Darnetta Clinkscale were
interviewed by Tony Scott and Tammie Holland. President Clinkscale
spoke about the Board of Education’s recent unveiling
of the education covenant, a five- year plan aimed at increasing
academic achievement and improving parent and community participation.
Tony Scott’s visit was a part of Majic 104.9’s
Thursday morning road show. Arika Parr, the show’s producer,
wanted to interview Dr. Williams about his vision for the school
district.
“This was a perfect opportunity for the station because
we were all concerned about the recent brawl at Vashon High
School,” she said. “We knew this was a good opportunity
for the Superintendent to set the record straight.”
As the broadcast progressed during the morning, district employees
shared conversations, enjoyed refreshments and even collected
a few autographs from the breakfast crew.
Several community persons and students stopped by to show their
support for the district.
