PLEDGE TO GRADUATE
Former Rams Player to motivate students to
stay in school

St. Louis, MO)—The freshmen class of Gateway Institute
of Technology is making a commitment now to graduate in 2010.
A special graduation commitment ceremony for the class of 2010
will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, November 16, at the school,
5101 McRee. The purpose is to encourage students not only to
graduate but also to prepare for future success beyond high
school.
Former Ram’s tight end Roland Williams will bring the
keynote address. “Each student will walk across the stage
to receive a special scroll and sign a pledge to graduate,” said
principal Kathryn Pillar. “They will have their pictures taken and their signed
pledge will hang on the wall. The school’s
staff will be dressed in their full academia regalia.
William’s Youth Lifeline Foundation’s mission
is to teach youth valuable skills necessary
to become productive citizens. The foundation includes celebrity
athletes, entertainer
and business professionals.
Other program activities include performances by the school’s
jazz band and choirs.
