Angela Pisciotta Named Kindergarten Teacher of the Year
The Gertrude Faust Potthoff 2005 Kindergarten Teacher of the Year reception was held at the Carondelet Historic Center on Wednesday, September 28, 2005. The winner of this year’s award, Angela Pisciotta of Mallinckrodt was joined by her principal, Betty Blanchard and a host of family members to celebrate this wonderful occasion. Also honored were the four finalists: Michelle Henderson, Dunbar; Lakita Speed, Hodgen, Kathleen Rodemacher, Mitchell and Amy Bruckner, formerly of Jefferson School. Funded through the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation, this award program honors the talent and dedication of St. Louis Public Schools kindergarten teachers by providing the winner a $1,000 monetary award from the Foundation. Parsons Blewett Memorial Fund provides $500 for teacher supplies and/or professional development. Additionally, Parsons Blewett provides $250 for teacher supplies and/or professional development for each finalist. Each teacher and school received KTOY plaques.
