Organizations Join Forces to Kick-off New Era at Northwest High School

St. Louis – Over 200 volunteers will help rebuild Northwest Law Academy’s athletic field this Tuesday, October 16. Work for the Northwest Build-Field Day begins at 7:30 a.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m. The school is located at 5140 Riverview Blvd.

KaBOOM!, Home Depot, PHL, Inc. (affiliated with the Public High League), the St. Louis Rams, the NFL Players Association, and the Isaac Bruce Foundation have joined forces to improve, repair and beautify the field and surrounding areas. The school’s staff and students will also take part in the activities.

The overhaul includes:

• Laying 94,000 square feet of sod
• Landscaping
• Painting a mural
• Building a concession stand
• Building players benches
• Building picnic benches

This is the first year that Northwest has had a football team, since its reconfiguration. Representatives were impressed by the positive school spirit that the school demonstrated at this year’s SLPS Football Jamboree. When they discovered that the school’s athletic facilities were in need of repair, they decided to help.
