Public Hearing at Cleveland High School

The St. Louis Public School District will hold a public hearing at Cleveland High School located at 4352 Louisiana Ave. on Thursday, September 28 at 6:00 p.m. District officials plan to discuss the process for air conditioning Cleveland High School. Gateway Elementary student wins Prairie Farms milk carton contest

Allison Atlas, 6th grade elementary student at Gateway, has won the grand prize in the “HOLY COW,” Prairie Farms milk carton design contest. Allison’s design made its debut in school cafeteria’s across the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Illinois areas in mid September. Bunche International Studies challenges students to read 100 books

Bunche International Studies middle school will prepare students for the district’s annual Reading Olympics competition. The annual event challenges 6th, 7th & 8th graders to read 100 books from Sept. 26 until May 8. The competition will kick off with a special ceremony called “Passing the Torch,” on Tuesday, September 26, at 10 a.m. Bunche International Studies located at 3125 South Kingshighway. McKinley CJA student named semifinalist in National Science competition

Julia Epplin-Zapf, a seventh grade student from McKinley Classical Junior Academy, joins the ranks with nine metro St. Louis middle school students as a top-ten semifinalist in the 2006 Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge. The semifinalists were selected from 1,900 students who entered science fairs nationwide. With 18 semifinalists, Missouri has the distinction as one of the top five states in this year’s competition. The semifinalists were selected for the contents of their projects, as well as their abilities to communicate the reasoning and purpose behind them.
