Reception for Retirees and Board Meeting Tonight Carr Lane

The Board of Education will meet tonight at 7:00 p.m. Before
the meeting, from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m., we will be hosting a brief
reception for the staff members who retired at the end of the
2006-2007 school year.
Summer School Starts
More than 14,000 St. Louis Public Schools’ students
registered to attend summer school which officially started
yesterday. That is 3,000 more students registered than originally
expected. This summer, the district is offering summer school,
tuition-free, to any Missouri student tuition free.

End of Year Attendance
At the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year, I established
attendance targets for all schools – 90% for high school,
92% for middle, and 95% for elementary. I am pleased to share
with you the schools that met or exceeded their attendance
target for the past school year.
