I hope you are all doing okay during the first big storm this
winter. The first blast of freezing rain and snow always comes
as a shock to the system. This week’s message will be
quite brief to simply update you on the activities we expect
between now and next week.
Annual Performance Report
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
will be releasing the Annual Performance Reports (APR) for
all Missouri school districts sometime tomorrow.
In the past several months, many staff members have done a
wonderful job in validating data that has been sent to DESE
over the past two to five years. While we hope that validation
process will improve the number of standards we meet, I am
satisfied by knowing that the core data we submitted is completely
accurate. Regardless of the outcome, I want to thank our entire “APR
Team” for their hard work, many of whom burned the midnight
oil, in correcting past data.
The previous administrative structure that existed at the
central office created silos, each of which would report pieces
of core data to the state. There was no attempt to validate
the different pieces of information and ensure the accuracy
of what was reported. Our recent restructuring, along with
newly developed policies and procedures, will help ensure future
data is accurate before it is sent to the state.
Magnet Schools Open House – Tuesday, Dec. 5
Our second magnet schools open house will be held on Tuesday,
Dec. 5th during regular school hours at all of our magnet programs.
Please spread the word to families who are interested in visiting
a magnet program when they can actually see instruction taking
place in the classrooms.
Administrative Board Meeting
Our administrative board meeting will be held on Tuesday,
Dec. 5.
