 My name is Darcus Burns.  I have been teaching special education for nineteen years with SLPS.  Teaching  to me is a life-long investment that requires commitment , dedication , passion and love. I  have a background in social services working with homeless families.  I believe in community outreach and support. Families need the support from the community. Being a teacher has allowed me  to serve ,educate , guide ,advocate, give back to the community  and make a difference in the lives of students.
