Ms. Butler

This is my first year at Patrick Henry Downtown Academy, but my fifteenth year as a classroom teacher and 20th year in education. Prior to coming to Patrick Henry, I taught ninth grade English and Writing Strategies for four years. Before that, I taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade English, Reading and Writing Strategies for ten years. Learning has always been the foundation for anything I do; whether it be cooking a big meal on Sunday or line-dancing, there are new concepts to gain and use for a life time.

I am a native of St. Louis; I attended St. Louis Public Schools during my years as an elementary school student. The middle child of three girls, I am considered the circle that fits in a square box. My younger sister is also an eductor and my niece is starting her first year of teaching as a ninth grade English teacher in Kansas City, MO. To answer the famous St. Louis question: "Where did you go to high school ?", I am a graduate of Webster Goves High School (Go Statesmen!). I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Fontbonne University and currently pursuing a Master's degree in Higher Education.
