Mr. Darcy Tillitt

Hello parents and students, and welcome to my webpage! I teach Algebra 150, Geometry, and Algebra 350 at Roosevelt High School.

I believe educators have a profound impact on their students, and consequently on society. I take this responsibility very seriously, but like to have fun doing it!

I grew up in rural Wyoming, joining the United States Navy after high school. I was called to action during the first Persian Gulf War. The bulk of my time in the Navy was spent in Charleston, SC. After serving honorably for four years, it was time for college. I bounced around a lot, spending two years at Black Hills State University where I played football, and finally landing back home at the University of Wyoming to complete my undergraduate degree in Business. I then headed west to Portland, Oregon, calling it home for over 20 years. While working various management jobs (mostly restaurants), I began coaching high school football. This re-awakened my desire to become a teacher and be a positive force for today's youth. I entered a master's program, earning my advanced degree in teaching in 2019 from Concordia University in Portland. Then 2020 happened, disrupting everything, and leading to our relocation to one of the most historic cities in America, St. Louis!

I look forward to building community within my classroom and school building, creating a space where students feel welcome and respected.
