Degrees and Certifications:
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I hope this message finds your summer off to a great start. Summer can be the best time of the year to spend quality time with family and friends and not think about school for a while.
However, I also hope that you are doing some daily reading and math practice to keep your most important organ exercised, your brain.
Below you'll find some summer resources to check out with your child/children! I hope you can take a few minutes to read through them, and talk with your child about what simple reading and learning activities they’d like to try this summer.
1. TumbleBooks has been working very hard to bring you some useful new tools to help your children get the most out of reading.
St. Louis Public Library has extended Tumblebooks to the end of Aug for free. Link: https://www.tumblebooklibrary.com/auto_login.aspx?U=HodgenLibrary2020&P=trial
2. This plan gives you units to focus on within the 4th Grade Math Course on Khan Academy.
3. Stay connected with these extended resources from the SLPS Academic Office: https://www.slps.org/Page/49043
Check out the statistics I’ve included here about Summer Learning Loss (see infographic below); even short amounts of time spent together reading or doing educational activities can make a big difference and get your child off to a great start for next school year!
I hope you have a healthy, happy summer together as a family, and that it is filled with sunshine, laughter, playing outside, and lots and lots of reading!
