    Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

The last day of school… the closing of one door and the opening of another.

I want to thank each of you for all the memories and the learning that we shared this past school year.

To my students, I say Thank You for when I teach, I also learn.  This past year we all grew together. A little bit of each of you will always be with me. Always strive to be the best that you can be!

To my parents, I say Thank You for allowing me to be your child’s teacher and working as a team.  We had some challenges with behavior, but we worked together, made plans and came up with interventions.

I know we learned together during distance learning and will be better ready in the fall if we have to continue this route. Make sure your child continues to read over the summer.  I have attached a summer reading link for you to use as a guide (see below). Thank you for your continued support and efforts. I have posted work for the summer and have extra packets if you need it for your child.  I am available over the summer if you need me.  Please feel free to reach out to me.

Congrats to the 8th graders.  I hope you enjoyed your yard signs.  The best of luck to you as enter 9th grade and begin a new journey.  I look forward to visits and updates from you.

I graduated from Fontbonne College with a Bachelor of Arts if Education and Special Education, and from Ashford University with a Master of Education with an emphasis on Early Childhood Education.  Mrs. Lato also received certification in Severe Developmental Disabilities from Webster University and an Autism certification from UMSL. Her teaching experience includes: 2 years at Buder Elementary working with students who had Autism, and 17 years at Gateway STEM High School, both as a teacher and as the Autism Department Head. I currently teach part-time at St. Charles Community College focusing on Autism Certification Studies.

In my spare time I enjoy fishing, crafting (card-making, and scrapbooking), making jewelry, photography, and baking.  I am married and have two daughters.

Hope you are all doing well and are safe.  I miss you all.

Hershey has a new cage and is loving it.  Daisy and Oreo are playing with Bear and Cinnamon (Brittany's animals).  They are having fun chasing each other around the cages.  And NO Brittany will NOT be keeping our class pets.  LOL.  I will text photos to you all.
