Metro Academic and Classical named 'Best High School' in Missouri

ST.LOUIS (KSDK) - A local public high school rates best in Missouri and is among the Top 200 in the nation, according to U.S.News and World Report.
Theannual publication of over 21,000 public high schools includes school-specific date on enrollment, ethnicity, location, school type and results of Advanced Placement and state assessment proficiency tests. Based on this data schools are given a college readiness index score. More than 4,800 top scoring schools receive a gold, silver or bronze medal.
Six of the 15 public high schools in St. Louis received gold, silver or bronze medals in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. Gold medals are given to the top 500 high schools for highest college readiness. Metro Academic and Classical, which ranks 135th in the nation, earned a gold medal.
Metro Academic and Classical High School is a magnet school with 291 students. They require testing of all prospective students before holding a lottery to determine enrollment.

4. Marquette High School, Chesterfield (Rockwood School District)
5. Eureka Sr. High, Eureka (Rockwood School District)
6. Park Hill High School, Kansas City (Park Hill District)
7. Lindbergh High School, St. Louis (Lindbergh School District)
8. Rock Bridge Sr. High, Columbia (Columbia 93 District)
9. South High, Ballwin (Parkway C-2 District)
10. Lee's Summit West High, Lee's Summit (Lee's Summit R-VII District)
Carnahan School of the Future, the highest rated St. Louis public high school after Metro Academic and Classical, ranks 23rd in the state and 2,132nd in the nation.
