Future of 2 St. Louis Public Schools up in the air, parents concerned
(KMOV.com) -- The future of two schools in the St. Louis Public School District has parents concerned.
Saturday, SLPS held another public forum for parents and the community to gather information on the plans for Mann and Shenandoah Elementary schools.
The district said the plan is to close Mann Elementary in the next few years, but has not decided whether to re-build or renovate Shenandoah Elementary School.
“Part of what we’re talking about is closing the school and the possibility of major renovations to expand the school to allow more students other than 212,” said SLPS Superintendent Dr. Kelvin Adams, “So that’s the information we’re trying to get to parents so they can give us the right information.”
Adams hopes to make a recommendation at either the November 14 or December 19 School Board meeting.
