ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Dr. Kelvin R. Adams will be superintendent of the St. Louis Public Schools through 2016.

District spokesman Patrick Wallace says the contract extension will provide stability in the district.

“When he initiates a program or an academic idea you can see it through to its fulfillment,” Wallace explains. “In the past when there had been turnover I think one superintendent would initiate something and then they would be gone.”

Including Adams, the district has had 7 superintendents since 1996. St. Louis Public Schools is the largest school district in Missouri.
