From the Principal - Attendance Matters!

Did you know that students’ late arrivals and early dismissals count as minutes (or hours) absent from school? Stix has always maintained a high attendance rate and we need that to continue. It is very important that our children are in school every day, all day for the entire school year. When students arrive late or leave early, they miss out on important learning and it can be disruptive for the classroom.  Please help to ensure that your child is at school everyday, all day, except for illnesses that require him/her to be at home. This will help ensure we reach the attendance goal (90% of our students attending school 90% of the time) that the state requires.

    Candy Fundraiser

Please bring money and orders to the front office by Friday, February 10. For the safety of the children, we do not want them transporting money to and from school. We appreciate your help in this sale! Thanks to all the families who are helping with this fundraiser!

    Jump Rope for Heart

Your child should have brought home information on our annual Jump Rope for Hearts Campaign. The children learn about healthy hearts during PE time and also practice their skills at jumping rope – all to help raise funds for heart research. Please help support our efforts, and your children’s efforts, to raise money for this worthy cause.

    Clothing Bin Lost and Found

Don’t forget we have our collection bin on the parking lot for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Please consider donating your unwanted clothes to this worthy cause. We will receive 20 cents per pound of clothing we donate.

Is your child missing a jacket? Hoodie? Scarf? Gloves? Please stop by our Lost and Found (located across from the student cafeteria) and see if you can reunite your child’s items with him/her!

    Science Fair  Science

    Science Fair

We hope that you would consider doing a science fair project with your children at home. All children will be doing projects as a class, but we encourage parents and children to do their own experiment/research/project at home too. All projects are due Friday, March 3.
