The Business Administration major program at Gateway STEM High School is a college prepatory pathway that finishes with students earning an Industry-recognized Credential (A*S*K Business Fundamentals) and an internship in the Spring Semester of the Senior Year.
The program requires that students complete a four-unit (two each semester) block of business management coursework during their junior year and an eight-unit (four each semester) block of business management coursework (fall-term) and an internship (spring-term).
Through the required Business Administration program coursework, students become skilled in the following areas:
- Business Law
- Customer Relations
- Emotional Intelligence
- Financial Analysis
- Human Resources Management
- Information Management
- Professional Development
- Strategic Management
After the completion of the A*S*K Business Fundamentals exam (Click Here for More Information), students participate in a one semester internship. During this internship, students work with local business leaders for a minimum of 120 clock hours in an approved occupational area. The areas include:
- Administrative Assistant
- Customer Service Representative
- Mail Clerk
- Office Clerk
