Ms. Teyuna Darris
My name is Ms. Darris, and I am the second-grade teacher at the Clay Academy of Exploration and Civics. The 2020 - 2021 school year marks my second year as a public school teacher. I have previous experiences in the federal government and in the nonprofit sector. I am a native of Saint Louis County, Missouri and I earned my primary and secondary education at the Ferguson-Florissant School District. I completed the Associate in Arts degree in General Transfer Studies from Saint Louis Community College, the Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Missouri - St. Louis, and the Master of Arts in Communications Management from Webster University. I am currently a graduate student at Liberty University. I expect to earn the Doctor of Philosophy in Communication in May 2022.
When I'm not teaching, or studying, I spend a lot of my free time volunteering for different causes. I also work as a features writer for The Ferguson Times. And, when I'm not volunteering, I enjoy reading, writing, and narrating poetry and non-fiction, singing, dancing and playing the piano, studying the guitar, and making percussion instruments and handmade crafts. I also enjoy watching documentary films about people and subjects from social studies, history, and science.
