Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Kevin Boone

My name is Kevin Boone, and I am the proud building substitute teacher, student advocate and all-around cheerleader and support base for students at Carnahan High. I bring experience and aptitude to multiple classrooms, drawing from a decade-long commitment as a certified educator in the district as well as my background in newspaper media. Prior to serving with SLPS, I was a sports reporter at a host of newspapers, including 22 years at local media outlets. I was a news reporter and editor for the St. Louis American during that stretch and won awards for feature and spot news reporting. My passion, however, was always sports writing and I loved covering high schools, colleges and pro sports, the latter of which allowed me the privilege of seeing baseball World Series championships, National Football League stars and Olympic track and field champions. My favorite interview was with NFL Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown. My favorite athlete will forever be St. Louis Cardinals baseball immortal Lou Brock. And, of course, the kids love to take me to task on my thoughts of the best-ever National Basketball Association star, whose name happens not to start with the letter L.  But I digress.  I love my job and the students and will do anything to help advance them to the next stage in their lives. I can be reached by email at or by phone at 314-457-0582. Please feel free to contact me at any time. Take care.
