Ms. Hensley

As the only child in a family that moved every two to three years, I have learned how to adjust to many different environments both socially and professionally. I feel this has given me an advantage on being a well-rounded teacher and the ability to work with a variety of students. I grew up in Florida for the first 5 years of my life, and then went to Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, and back to Missouri.

After graduating high school, I accepted a scholarship to play volleyball at a small, private university in Memphis, TN. However after two short years that school ended up closing down and I finished my degree at Harris-Stowe State University. The professors at Harris-Stowe genuinely cared about my success both in and out of the schools walls.

This has helped to shape how I am as a teacher. I believe that all children have the ability to reach their fullest potential when the teacher and parents are able to freely communicate with each other. I also believe that educating children should allow for self-discovery, and allow the students to learn from their world around them with the guidance of the teacher.
