• Hello, Pre-Kindergarten families!

I am sure that you have many questions as to what this virtual learning adventure will look like for your scholar!  Students will receive their iPads on September 2nd, 2020 (look for more information soon on location and time to come and pick yours up!).

On Thursday, September 3rd I will be available for via Dojo messenger, email, or a virtual meeting (either on Microsoft Teams or Zoom, whichever you prefer) to assist you in logging your child into Teams.  Your login information will be given to you when you come to pick up your ipads, but I will also put it in a message on Dojo so you will have it in two places.

On Friday Septebmer 4th, we will have our first class meeting!  I will send out the invite to this on Wednesday as it will come on the Teams program.  This will basically be a meeting of getting to know each other!

There will be no school on Monday, September 7th due to the Labor Day holiday.

Starting on Tuesday, September 8th, we will be doing lessons both synchronously and asynchronously, which means some lessons will be through Teams live meetings, and some will be done independently.  The live meetings will be for morning meeting, calendar, letter,  number, shape and color recognition as well as counting and patterning activities.  The asynchronous learning will be to practice skills learned in class either on paper, white boards, or on the iPads.

You can find our daily schedule by clicking on THIS LINK.  This schedule is tentative and is subject to change if it seems that the kids are having a difficult time going between meetings or staying engaged.  While the schedule may show content area lasting for an hour, part of that is actually asynchronous learning.  Our lessons will not go over 30 minute increments as I understand the young students have difficulties staying engaged for that long!

Our morning meeting will start every day at 8:30am.  It is important for your child to be on time to the live meetings as attendance will be taken each morning.

As of now, the plan is for the social studies lessons to be posted as a video/read aloud for you to watch with your child.  There will be an occasional assignment attached to this lesson that will be found on the Teams page under the Social Studies tab.  These assignments will consist of a drawing or maybe a video of your child answering a question of the day!

I know this is a lot of information so please reach out if there is anything I can do to help you understand the virtual learning!
