Ms. Blaydes!

Welcome to Gateway Elementary School.  My name is Ms. Blaydes, a mother of two.  My son is 30 years of age and my daughter is 27 years of age.  I am your teacher this school year.  We will hope for a full in-person school year.

This will be a year will be filled with fun, learning new skills, and a lot of class participation.

As you enter your first day of school, we will begin to “get to know each other” as well as we will always practice staying safe while in school as well as at home.  Practicing social distancing is very important.  I know it can be very exciting meeting new friends.  However, we want our friends to remain safe at all times.

I would like to share with you why I decided to become a teacher.  As a child I always wanted to help others.  I had the best teachers who were more than just a teacher to me.  All my teachers were very caring and supportive and made sure I was ready to move on to the next grade level. I was a Childcare Center Director for Lutheran Family and Children’s Services 18 years.  I taught kindergarten for 20 years and Pre-K for two years. 

Your child will have practice work every week to take home.  My class schedule will be posted inside and outside my classroom.  I will communicate with my parents through “Class DOJO.”  If there are times you want to talk to me please send me a note by your child.  Also, if their way of arriving or leaving school has changed please let me know ASAP!.  The school number is 314241-8255.
