Hi! My name is Ash Awbrey (pronouns:they/them) and I will be your 8th grade ELA teacher this year! I was born and raised in Marion, Ohio, then went to Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in English Literature and Creative Writing in May 2021 and with my Masters of Arts in Teaching in May 2022. I moved to St Louis in June and I am so excited to be here at Long Middle School! 

This year we're going to be spending time each quarter focusing on a key topic, but will always have the main goal of doing some solo reading every day. I'm a big fan of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan to the point that you may get tired of me talking about it (just a heads up)!
