A Message from the Interim Superintendent:
Several of Our Schools Are Reopening!
Dear Saint Louis Public Schools Staff, Families, and Community,
I am absolutely thrilled and proud to announce the reopening of Yeatman, Washington Montessori, and the program at Beaumont! This is a moment of tremendous celebration and a testament to the extraordinary commitment of everyone in our community.
A Triumphant Return: Moving Forward Together
We have faced significant challenges together, especially following the events of May 16th. Our journey of recovery has been long, but your unwavering spirit and dedication have brought us to this triumphant moment: returning our students to their home schools.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our principals, teachers, operations team, facilities crew, networks, Central Office staff, our Board of Education and the entire Saint Louis community. Thanks to your hard work, our buildings are ready to welcome our students back. You have all worked tirelessly and with immense passion to make this reopening possible! You did it!

Key Details for Our Return:
-
Moving Days for Staff: Staff will have their three Collective Bargaining Agreement guaranteed days during the week of December 15 and on January 2. On December 22 and 23 movers will be moving items from the temporarily relocated schools back to the home schools. Principals will have access to their buildings beginning Monday, December 22. Additionally, there will be two, three-hour paid service days made available for any additional time needed.
-
Student Reopening Activities (Open Houses): We are currently planning activities to welcome students and staff back to their buildings. We are working to schedule in-person, after-hours tours for families to see their specific school and meet staff. Beaumont will hold a Pep Rally on January 7, Washington Montessori will be holding an open house on January 23, Yeatman will be holding a Community Partner Fair on January 7 and an Open House on January 8.
-
Student Support Services: Parents are asking about support for students. We are putting in place additional support for students who may have experienced trauma.
-
Technology: Students who have signed the necessary forms will be able to take their iPads home. Our team is also continuing the form signing campaign to ensure all students have access.
-
Bus Letters (Yeatman and Washington Montessori Families Only): Official bus route letters will be delivered the week of December 15 (this week). You will receive this information digitally via Parent Square. Printed copies will also be made available upon request.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our principals, teachers, operations team, facilities crew, networks, Central Office staff, our Board of Education and the entire St. Louis community."Dr. Myra Berry
Staying Connected: Your Voice Matters
While the district will send a broad message regarding reopening, you will also receive a direct message from your school.
We are also actively capturing and sharing stories on SLPS social media of principals, staff, and students preparing for the reopening.
Please continue to reach out to your school leadership team and staff. We are here to support you every step of the way, and you do not have to wait until scheduled meetings to reach out. This is not just buildings reopening; it is a monumental step forward for our schools and our future.
Inclement Weather and Emergency Guidelines
This one-page guide clearly explains how Saint Louis Public Schools responds to inclement weather and emergencies, outlining what an AMI Day, Snow Day, or Emergency Day means for students and staff.
Families and staff are encouraged to download this resource so they know exactly what to expect when weather or safety conditions impact school operations.
Thank You!
Thank you again for your patience, partnership, and belief in our students. We are getting close, and I look forward to seeing the joy as our students return to their rightful school homes!
