Dr. LaTisha A. Smith Appointed as Chief of Student Support Services

Saint Louis Public Schools (SLPS) is pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Dr. LaTisha A. Smith as the district’s Chief of Student Support Services.

Dr. Smith has served as Interim Chief since February 2025, providing steady leadership and advancing initiatives that support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students across the district.

A lifelong educator and advocate, Dr. Smith is known for her students-first approach to leadership. She recently completed her Education Specialist degree and Superintendent Certification from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, further strengthening her expertise in educational leadership.

In addition to her work within SLPS, Dr. Smith is an active community leader and published author. She volunteers with the National Council of Negro Women and mentors young leaders through MANUP Global, reflecting her longstanding commitment to service and community engagement.

In her role as Chief of Student Support Services, Dr. Smith will continue leading districtwide efforts focused on student wellness, family engagement, and comprehensive support services that help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.  a
