On Tuesday, May 9th, we will have our Transition Night for families. Parents can learn what their child’s academic expectations will be for his/her grade level next year. We will have a light dinner at 5:30 and teacher presentations to start at 6:15. Teachers from Humboldt and Kennard will be joining us for our 2nd grade families to learn about those schools for next year. We hope to see you all at Stix!
Congratulations!
Ms. Wendy Huddleston, PK Teacher in room 120, has been named “SLPS Preschool Teacher of the Year.” Ms. Huddleston will be honored at a special event on May 3rd. We are glad she is a part of our wonderful Stix Team!
Special Olympics and Young Athletes Program (YAP)
Stix students will be participating in the Special Olympics and YAP program this year. These programs are designed to strengthen physical development, increase special awareness, build skills in concept development and improve self-esteem and self-confidence for children through participation in sports and socialization by providing an experience that will lead to a lifetime appreciation of physical fitness and sports. Children will travel to Affton High School on Tuesday, May 2nd, to compete. We wish them luck!
Career Day
Our Career Day is set for the morning of May 4th. If you would be willing to share your job responsibilities with the children, please contact Ms. Robin House. It is a great event and the volunteers always seem to enjoy themselves almost as much as the students enjoy their presentations!
