    Teacher Message:
    Dear Families,
In the midst of this global pandemic, we have to try to find the positives each and everyday! Our hardworking scientists were able to develop vaccines to help combat Covid-19!  These dedicated men and women persevered, never giving up!  Just  like I ask my students to never give up, especially when learning becomes more challenging.
I am looking forward to working with your child this school year!  Let's all continue to do our part with social distancing and wearing masks! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Teacher web sites are set up and are ready for your child to access!

    Please Stay Safe!

    Sincerely,
    Ms. Finklang

    Biography:

Hello! My name is Karen Finklang and I teach Job Skills Development at Nottingham CAJT. This is my fifth year teaching at this fabulous school!  Job Skills Development consists of students learning to improve their skills in counting money, telling time, and measuring skills which will help benefit them in their day-to-day lives, as well as in the world of work. Students also learn how to sort, match, alphabetize, file, and follow a specific set of directions in completing tasks. Students clock in and clock out using a time card, just as they would at a real job.

***Due to Covid-19, each teacher at Nottingham CAJT HS will focus their teaching in 3 areas:
Communication Arts, Math and Independent Living Skills.

    Teaching Background:
My 24 year teaching career began in the county of St. Louis, teaching all grade levels, K-12. My last 13 years teaching I taught Career Education and ran a Community Based program at 2 worksites through Maplewood-Richmond Heights School District.
I was happy to bring my work experience to Nottingham CAJT, and I've seen students grow in their prevocational skills as well as their social skills!

My interests lie in walking Francis Park early in the morning, gardening, and eating healthy!
I look forward to communicating with you on a regular basis throughout the school year!

    Let's have a great 2021-2022 school year!
    Sincerely,
    Ms. Finklang
