Degrees and Certifications:
2017 MSE Secondary Special Education & Transition, University of Kansas 2013 BS Special Education, Western Carolina University
In 2006, I met Ginger. We were placed together for a week long of fun at a summer camp for adults with disabilities. Ginger radically changed my life that week at camp and a passion for individuals with disabilities ignited within me. Later on, I had the privilege of going to Western Carolina University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I graduated with my Special Education degree in 2013. For the next three years, I taught in North Carolina in a self-contained classroom setting in a public middle school. I worked with students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and had the privilege of working with students from various backgrounds. In 2016, my husband Andrew and I moved to St. Louis as Andrew began seminary. I taught in a private school for students with intellectual disabilities aging 16-21 years old. Last May, I finished my Master’s degree in Secondary Special Education and Transition.
This school year will be my 6th year teaching students with disabilities, and my first year teaching in the PAES lab. One of my greatest passions is helping students with disabilities find meaningful work and engaging employers on the topic of employing individuals with disabilities, to the company's ultimate benefit.
I look forward to getting to know you and work with you this school year. It is going to be a wonderful year!
