Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Lynda Wesley and I am honored to be a member of the Pierre Laclede Junior Career Academy. This is my first year serving as the Interim Academic Instructional Coach at PLJCA. Prior to this roll, I was the 4th grade ELA teacher at PLJCA and teacher at Adams Elementary School in Saint Louis Public Schools. My job now as the Interim Academic Instructional Coach is to support teaching and learning at PLJCA. I do this by acting as a data coach, resource provider, curriculum specialist, instructional specialist, mentor, classroom supporter, and learning facilitator.
I earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I also earned two masters' degrees in Early Childhood Education and Reading from Webster University. My teaching style is a hands-on approach with active learning through the use of reading/math/writing workshops, centers, and stations. This particular style allows for scholars to make appropriate choices for themselves, which empowers them to become life long learners.
This is going to be another fantastic school year at PLJCA. I am looking forward to working with some of the best educators, scholars, and parents in the Saint Louis Public Schools.
