Dr. Wanda Davis
Welcome back students,
I am Dr. Wanda Davis, a Career and Technical(CTE) Information Technology instructor. I have been teaching Microsoft Office 2019 Certification programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) over the past three years. In addition, I've been teaching web design and development, front-end (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and back-end (Python, Java, PHP and SQL) programming for applications, and game design and Adobe InDesign and Premiere Pro over the last twenty-four years in urban school districts throughout Missouri. The programs are rigorous, interactive and fun in nature and provide foundational ideas that prepare students for innovative technology industry careers after passing required certifications. Reasons why students should become certified: They stand out from the competition for jobs and scholarships; demonstrate their expertise in the latest technology; industry-leading technology skills easily recognized on their resume; join an elite team of professionals; get a job anywhere in the world; and use their certification in many different career fields. My hope is that by the end of this course you have a new appreciation for the subject and will continue your education in the content area.
My teaching philosophy focuses on the four As in academics: Attendance, Achievement, Attire and Attitude. My passion is to challenge students to excel and expand beyond their strengths; always challenge myself to do the same in my teaching and research that supports my professional efforts; consistently explore and implement exciting new curriculum technology innovations into the classroom. The focus is that, "students do not care how much you know until they know how much you care". My No.1 priority is to build positive, educational relationships with students across cultures.
