Mrs. Powers

Hello Meramec families! My name is Jordan Powers and I am the PE and Health teacher at Meramec Elementary. I graduated from Missouri State University in 2014 where I received my B.S. in Physical & Health Education. After graduating, I was hired in the Parkway School District as the Behavior Intervention teacher at Craig Elementary. I worked in Parkway for three years and grew so much as a teacher. My years of experience finally led me to my dream job as the Physical & Health Education teacher at Meramec Elementary. This is now my fifth year at Meramec and I have truly enjoyed every part of my job. As the Physical Education teacher, my main focus is to find something that each and every student can take away from my class to better their lives. I try to expose my students to as much as possible so that I can broaden their mindset of what Physical Education can be. We've learned as much as yoga, jump rope, tumbling, ultimate frisbee, street hockey, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. I am passionate about teaching the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle and I strongly believe each of my students will find something from my class that they enjoy and can continue for years to come.
