Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Emily Hockaday.

I am going to be your kindergarten teacher this school year.

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer and is ready to have fun learning.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a graduate of Harris-Stowe State University.

This is my sixth year teaching kindergarten at Wilkinson Early Childhood Center.

I have three children, one girl, and two boys. I have two grandchildren, both girls, and one who attended Wilkinson Early Childhood Center with me.

I have a dog named Tookie. I love the theatre, my favorite color is red and my favorite ice cream is Rocky Road yum! yum!

I love having fun while learning. In our classroom we will have a lot of fun learning, we will make volcanoes and indoor snow, just to name a few. 

In the past, my classes have written Readers Theatre, had a Paper Bag Fashion Show, produced and starred in our commercial about Antarctica and built our own set (along with room 206), and designed food packaging and advertising.  Most recently, the students of Wilkinson and I wrote and published LeBron James Black History in Children's Words.

I enjoy teaching kindergarten because I like seeing children grow.

In my spare time, I like listening to Mozart, watching old movies, reading and writing.

I can't wait to see everyone in person so we can have fun learning new and exciting things.
