Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Andrea Wood
Hello! I am excited to be back at Peabody for a second year as the art teacher. I hold a BFA in art education with an emphasis in painting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and my teaching certifications include Art (K-12) and Early Childhood Special Education (B-3). My prior teaching experience includes teaching K-8th grade art at a charter school and teaching adaptive art for children and teens with special needs. Additionally, I have exhibited my paintings at several local art venues since 2008, and I have sold paintings, prints and handmade jewelry throughout the U.S and Canada as a self-representing artist.
As a life long learner and practicing artist, I am passionate about sharing the many benefits of a well-rounded arts education with the students of Peabody! My main goal as a teacher is to facilitate a positive learning environment where students can feel empowered to express themselves creatively.

I've provided links below for easy, homemade play-dough recipes. Younger students can practice rolling out play-dough into coils and forming letters or shapes.
