My name is Katie Meyer and this is my second year as the College Admissions Specialist for Gateway STEM High School. I graduated from Mizzou in Fall 2014 (M-I-Z!) and joined Missouri College Advising Corps right after graduation. During my time in MCAC, I was placed in Independence, Missouri where I served as a College Adviser for 2 years at Van Horn High School. While I loved Kansas City, I am a true St. Louisian and decided to come back home to pursue my MEd at UMSL in school counseling, which I completed in December 2018. While I may go into traditional school counseling one day, my passion is helping students follow their dreams and assisting them with carving out a plan for their future after high school. My students really have changed my life and I know will continue to do so. Gateway is one of the most diverse schools that I have ever stepped foot in and I really am lucky to work with not only the students, but their families as well. Outside of college advising, I spend the majority of my time, energy, and money traveling. My other hobbies include binge watching Netflix, finding free activities in St. Louis, and taking pictures of cute puppies. I am ready for a great school year and I hope that you are too!
