• Dear Parents,

Welcome Back!!! My name is Aaron Arnold and I will be your child’s physical education teacher this school year. I’m extremely excited about providing enjoyable opportunities for students to be active in virtual P.E. class and during asynchronous learning at home.

Your child will have LIVE physical education instruction twice a week. Students must be virtually present for each and every class period. Students must wear clothing that provides mobility and they won’t mind sweating in. Cameras on student’s virtual devices must be turned on (if possible) to ensure your child is actively engaged. This is for safety, comfort, and full participation in class.

In physical education the expectations are; we come to learn, we treat others with respect, we expect a challenge, and our cameras are tuned on and our mics are turned off on our virtual devices. By following these guidelines, we will have positive, successful, and productive physical education experiences. 40% of student’s grades will be dependent upon LIVE student participation, so let’s work together to make sure your child is attending class as much as possible.

This year’s course will be a balance of physical education and health education, and students will be expected to stay physically active while at home. A physical activity log will be required to be filled out by all 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders on a weekly basis. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind.

If you feel overwhelmed, you aren’t alone. If you feel like there’s so much work you and your child have to do that you can’t possibly make time for physical education class, don’t worry. I’ll be here to teach, guide, assist, celebrate with, and listen to you and your child(ren) whenever you need me. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns at (314) 324-1879, or e-mail me at Aaron.Arnold@slps.org.

I look forward to a fun, safe, and fit school year.

    Sincerely,

    Aaron Arnold
