I believe in making learning fun. The beauty of physical education is that I can take concepts from any core content area and present them to students in a kinetic & investigatory way. I grade by asssessing student growth, not ability. I strive to create a positive environment and instill a “growth-mindset” in our students. What I enjoy most about teaching is building relationships with my students; my number one priority is to make every student feel valued and believe that they can be successful at whatever they put their mind to.

Born and raised in St. Louis, I graduated from Webster Groves High School in 2010 and earned a full scholarship to play football at The University of Tennessee at Martin. After two years in Martin, I decided to leave football behind and transferred back in state to Missouri State University, where I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science In Education degree. After graduation I moved to Gravois Park in South City and began teaching P.E. at Lafayette Preparatory Academy, a charter school on Lafayette Square. My goal was always to eventually teach for our Public School System so after two years of teaching at LPA, I made the switch.
I'm excited to be a part of the Oak Hill team and look forward to building relationships with our students and families. I became a teacher / coach because I had so many misguided teachers / coaches throughout my academic and athletic careers. I pray I never take myself too seriously, always put my students first and never put doubt in a child's heart; I'm a firm believer that you can be whoever you want to be. If you ever catch me not living by my personal mission, don't hesitate to call me on it.
