My name is Mrs. Terra Jo Haley.  Welcome to my webpage where you can learn about me, see important dates and events on the calendar, keep up with assignments that are due, and view my open office hours.     The 2022-23 school year marks my 16th year of teaching music, my 9th year in SLPS and my 6th year at Gateway Elementary MST. Throughout my 16 years of teaching, I have gained experience in all grade levels, preschool – 12th grade. I currently have a mixture of classes from preschool – 5th grade at Gateway. I acquired my Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Hannibal-LaGrange University in June of 2000. If you are doing the math you realize there are 6 years missing from the time I graduated and the amount of years I have taught. I did work in the music business side for 6 years but eventually realized my heart really was in teaching music to our youth. While I majored in both vocal and instrumental music in college and have taught both I specialize in vocal and musical theater. Because of this passion, I began an auditioned musical theater group called “Gateway Showstoppers” during the 2018-2019 school year, and we are still going strong!  Last school year I started an auditioned instrumental group called "Gateway Groove".  I plan to continue that as well during the 2022-23 school year. 

    I love inspiring young minds through music and I am grateful for the opportunities Gateway Elementary has offered me in doing this. Thank you for the opportunity to help your child develop their inner talents!
