Bachelor of Arts in History Missouri Certification Social Science 5-12.
My name is Christina Kincaid and I am the American Government and Street Law teacher for Carnahan High School of the Future. This is my first year at Carnahan and I am very honored and thankful to be apart of this FAMILY!
I was born and raised in Saint Louis. I grew up in Florissant and attended high school at Incarnate Word Academy, Class of '05. After high school I attended university at Fontbonne and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with certification to teach 5-12. At Fontbonne I was a member of the softball team. I have been playing and coaching softball and volleyball on and off for 15+ years.
I teach American Government, which is a junior class. American Government is a fll year study of the structures, processes and issues of national, state and local government. This course gives emphasis to the responsibilities and rights of citizenship, the skills necessary for criticial thinking, and the knowledge for wise decision making.
I also teach Street Law which is a junior/senior class. The Street Law course is a two semester class and is intended to provide students with the ability to understand government, individual rights, laws and legal disputes. We use case studies, class discussion, and other methods in the classroom. We will also look at roles played by lawyers, judges, and law enforcement professionals. Through the completion of this class students will have gained skills and insight to analyze events that are happening in their everyday lives.
I am excited for this new beginning at Carnahan and I hope it will be a wonderful year!
