Mrs. Jetan Totton

Hello!  I am honored to serve as your Instructional Math Coach.  I have been a member of St. Louis Public Schools family for 22 years.  During this time I have served as Behavior Coordinator in SIG Schools, Teacher Assistant, Preschool, Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grade teacher.

I attended Southeast Missouri State University for undergraduate studies recieving a B. S. in Journalism and Early Childhood Certification from Harris Stowe University.  I obtained a Masters degree at Lindenwood University in the Area of Educational Adminstration & a Master's degree in the area of Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.

My philosophy as an Instrucional Leader is children learn best by doing.  I provide support to teachers by modeling, coaching, observing, and providing feedbact.  My goal is to communicate and assist teachers in implementing methods for motivating students to engage in effort-based work that increases academic achievements. My experiences at St. Louis Public Schools have given me a true appreciation and respect for the role that we as educators play in the lives of our students.  The accomplishments, milestones, and goals that are achieved by students, are all obtained through an intricate network of people working together to teach and enrich young minds.  Children should be excited about learning, showing curiosity, creativity, and initiative.  I know for a fact it takes a village to raise a child. I have a genuine love for Education that comes from within my heart.  Each day I will continue to seek new challenges, and opportunities to expand my own knowledge base to acknowledge and itensify values in students and faculty, which are imperative to construct an environment that is conducive for learning.

The Mission of Earl Nanc, Sr. Elementary School is to empower students to have a voice within our community .  Each student will achieve success through, literacy, innovation, and having culturally responsive classrooms.

Vision:  Nance Elementary students will be empowered as global leaders to make a positive impact on the world.
