Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Corey Nordike
"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world" (Nelson Mandela)
My name is Corey Nordike and I am the Instructional Coordinator at McKinley. Prior to this position, I spent several years as a classroom teacher working with grades Pre-K-12. I've taught in Florida, Illinois, and Missouri. One of my favorite successes as a teacher was taking something many consider "boring" and making it relevant and engaging for students. One of my favorite aspects in my current role as an I.C. is collaborating and brainstorming with teachers to ensure we are reaching all students.
I am very adventurous and love to travel. I studied abroad in Ireland, backpacked through China, taught Chinese students English, volunteered for AmeriCorps, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and Real Estate Broker. I graduated with my bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and received my Special Reading Certification and Master of Education degree from UMSL.
I am excited to be back at McKinley and look forward to a healthy and successful year!
